The end is nigh

8 February 2017 | 8 comments | Tagged:

Not a spoiler about how Dragonchoice 3 will end (this is a spoiler: rocks fall, everybody dies!) but notice that we are on the back stretch and turning for home. Next week we begin the fifth and final act. The story that never ends is nearly over. Thank the lord.

So this is your last chance to flag up unsolved mysteries, unanswered questions, unresolved characters and anything else that you want to go out with closure before I put down Dragonchoice (and Pern) for good. Hopefully there won’t be anything I haven’t already accounted for, and even if there is I’m not guaranteeing I’ll make a last-minute save, but speak now or forever hold your peace.

You can get me in the usual ways: here, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, AO3, FF.net…

curious question if Madellon breeds greens and Anne and Todd McCaffrey showed it is possible for a green to lay a queen egg shouldn’t Madellon once in awhile get a green laid queen?

Dragonchoice is non-Todd canon (haven’t read his books and don’t intend to, so I’m not familiar with any new concepts he introduced and DC doesn’t rely on them).

It might be technically possible for a fertile Madellon green to lay a queen egg; it’s just very very, very, very unlikely.

SARENYA NEEDS A DRAGON! Ok. But really. And whatever happens, please please please denouement! Thanks. : )

Thoroughly enjoying the story, don’t want it to come to an end.

  4. I just finished DragonChoice 3. You made me cry. What an absolutely excellent addition to the legends of Pern.

I read my first Pern story, The Smallest Dragonboy, on a plane flying to Okinawa, Japan for my first assignment as a Navy meteorologist. I was captivated and waited eagerly for each new Pern novel.

As an author myself, I know how much thought and time and effort it took to write these three stories. All I can say is Very Well Done. Anne would be proud.

Just finished my third reread (I read it first as it was being published and then again a few years ago) and I have one major question. What happened to Karika? Since T’Kamen found a record that said she died in 104, what tragedy ended her life at 16/17?

If you follow the Dragonchoice – You Choose: Candidate interactive adventure, you may find out some of what happens post-Dragonchoice 3!
