However, as he is the second youngest Wingleader, his opinion doesn't carry much weight with the others. As a weyrling he was close to T'fer, but following a series of fatal training accidents he broke off the friendship.

Details: A'len features throughout Dragonchoice and Dragonchoice II. He was a not entirely successful Harper Drum apprentice assigned to Jessaf Hold before being Searched, though he is originally from Southern HOld. As a candidate and weyrling he became friends with T'kamen, C'mine and C'los, and their mutual friendship continues to the present day. A'len and Chyilth also formed part of the rescue Wing that T'kamen took to Kellad HOld to battle the wildfire.
