Anne McCaffrey is the creator of Pern and the Dragonriders of Pern®.

Faye Upton is the author of Dragonchoice. She was born 22 March 1980 in Chichester, West Sussex, grew up in the south west of England, and holds a degree in English and Related Literature from the University of York. She now lives and works in Kent as the web producer of a charity services organisation.

The world of Pern has been her fan fiction setting of choice for almost fifteen years. She also dabbles in other fandoms, notably with "One Must Hide", a novel-length fan fiction based on The Lost Boys. Original work will come - eventually.

When she isn't writing fan fiction, building websites or bothering artists, Faye is a racing fanatic and late but passionate student of equestrianism. She rides weekly at Wellgrove Farm near Tunbridge Wells, where the superb Trilby, Chippy, Babycham, Winnie and Sweep haven't dropped her once (though Maggie has).

Faye owns 5% of a two-year-old chestnut filly, Rubilini - known as "Sarah". Rubilini is in training with Mick Channon.

Faye is also a Friend of the Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre, a charity which retrains and rehomes former racehorses.
